THE LITTLE BLACK BOOK LONDON - The Perception Bar

This Saturday the June 8th is World Gin Day. And here at Pretty Peachy we couldn’t be happier. We are gin lovers. There we said it. We are always on the look-out for new gins to try and gin cocktails to add to our list of favourites. We’ve already brought you the best gins of the North and we do love a classic G&T but sometimes the occasion or mood calls for something a little bit more special. And in our humble opinion there is no better place to sit back and relax than at The Perception Bar, W Hotel, Soho.

As you’d expect from the W brand, the The Perception Bar is buzzing, quirky, with stylish interiors and enviable lighting designs setting the scene for mouth-watering cocktails and the perfect place to escape the hustle and bustle of Soho. With World Gin Day in mind they have of course gone to town on the cocktail menu with three that really standing out to us (and our taste buds!). If you’re after some spring/summer freshness, then look no further.

First up we have ‘Make a Green Choice’ a fabulous mix of Star of Bombay, Crème de Peche, Basil, Cucumber, Apricot Jam and Lemon Juice. I think we’ll be swapping our cold pressed juices for this cocktail at the weekend. Naughty.

Next is the rather aptly named ‘Get Wasted.’ With an extraordinary set of flavours mixed to perfection, this will provide the ultimate after dinner kick. Consisting of Old Curiosity Lavender & Echinacea Gin, Discarded Cascara Vermouth, Jagermeister, T2 Pumping Pomegranate Infusion and Caramel it is a great alternative to the classic Old Fashioned.

And finally to the curious ‘It Came From The Swamps.’ This cocktail takes the top spot as our favourite. With fruity notes and refreshing flavours it is summer in a glass. Made with Hendricks, Limoncello, St Germain, Basil, White Grapes, Apple Juice and Lemon Juice it definitely hits the spot on a hot evening.
